RB Roger Brennan (Kansas City Chiefs) – Round 1 – Pick 10
In a Week 2 game at home to the New York Giants, the rookie had a big day and followed up his Week 1 performance with an even better one.
The Giants would dominate early and take a 9-0 lead at halftime with the Chiefs almost ignoring the running game and going with a heavy pass attack. The second half would be a different story as they would have a much more balanced attack and feature Brennan a lot more in the running game. On their first possession of the second half the Chiefs would finish an 11 play 72-yard drive with a Brennan 5 yard Touchdown run to put them back in the game trailing by just 2 at 9-7. On the drive Brennan would go 44 yards on 4 carries, with two big gains of 20 and 12 yards.
On their very next possession, a Brennan 20 yard run would set up a 40 yard go ahead Touchdown pass from Ward to Ewing to take the lead 13-9. The Chiefs would go on to win 30-9 with Brennan rushing for 124 yards on 19 carries and 1 touchdown in the win.
