76’ers look to end Wizard’s magical run

Philadelphia gained a 2-0 series lead over Washington last night with a commanding 113-89 win. The Wizards entered postseason as the eighth seed after posting a 38-44 regular season record. First they shocked the basketball world by knocking off #1 seed Orlando and then promptly swept #5 seed Detroit right out of the playoffs. But the Wizards luck might have finally run out against Klay Thompson and the Philadelphia  76’ers.

Klay Thompson, the undisputed team MVP of the 76’ers, led scoring in both victories  with 38 points in each game. Klay Thompson was the mid-season addition that GM Jeff Copeland added via blockbuster trade. “Klay has been the fuel that makes our team engine run” Copeland said. “He has turned out to be quite the Christmas present” Copeland said with a smile, referencing the fact that the trade took place on Christmas day.

Klay Thompson said “We just have to take each game one at a time. We have the utmost respect for the Wizards. I know we are up 2 games but nothing comes easy in this league.”

The series goes to DC tomorrow for the next 2 games where the Wizards will look to even the series back up.
