Day of the Pitcher

Two games on the slate, eight runs scored and nineteen hits allowed in total.

The top three performances were pitchers, messres Scherzer, Eovaldi & Ryu.

The Yankees kept their hopes alive with a 3-1 victory over the Red Sox after following behind in the 4th, Eovaldi allowed just three hits in over seven innings and Betances did his job in the ninth.

The Nationals are two wins from the World Series and could win it in front of their home crowd if Doug Fister and Stephen Strasburg can do the business, though they have to face Kershaw in game 5. Scherzer went eight and a third allowing one hit and striking out twelve and was helped enormously by first inning home runs from Harper and Moore giving him a 3-0 lead early.
