Dodgers thankful for Pederson’s bombs

Monday saw games in the senior circuit in the 2015 SSG Baseball playoffs.

Trailing from an Adam Lind first inning home run the Dodgers inapt offense needed a spark. It came from Zach Greinke trying to help his own cause and lead off Carl Crawford both singling. Joc Pederson then launched the first of his two home runs into the LA night sky to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead. The Brewers however  were not finished and tie the game at three, and in the bottom of the eighth Pederson stepped up to the plate and delivered this time with a solo bomb to give the lead and a 4-3 victory and a 2-0 series lead.

Both Washington and St Louis posted 95 wins in the season and we expect a close series, the games are tight but St Louis finds themselves one game from elimination from the playoffs after the Nationals squeak past them 3-2. Zimmerman out-dueled Lackey but star of the game was the Nationals Anthony Rendon who hit his second home run of the series and has drove in five runs in the two victories for the Nationals.

Tuesday sees a travel day for the National League with both St Louis and Milwaukee one game from elimination.

So Tuesday’s slate sees the American League series moving to Cleveland and New York.
