Hurdle out in Chicago

“I let Clint Hurdle know today that he would no longer be the Manager of Chicago White Sox. We appreciate what he brought to the team last year but we feel like we need to move in a different direction.” GM Jeff Copeland addressed the press today to answer the latest rumors of Clint Hurdles dismissal.

“I think ultimately Clint and I had a difference of opinion on which players were the focus of the future of this franchise. Clint is a very good game day manager and we are going to miss his skills, but I need someone who I can work with.”

Clint Hurdle when questioned said “I’m old school. I think the Manager should manage and the GM should focus on assembling talent. Jeff and I obviously disagreed with that. I was looking for a job when I found this one and I’m sure I’ll find one again this time.”

Copeland indicated that the Bench Coach Justin Zamora will handle the day to day managing while they try to find a new manager.

Interesting development! White Sox lost a couple of tough games against Angels today, and I wonder how much of that was the final straw.

Just feel like this team is too good to be getting these results from it.
