New GM makes big moves

The Cardinals announced this morning the new GM Julian Tabbitt.

Cardinals fans angry after the last GM traded several good pieces, for older and more expensive players. Well also trading and then signing Paplebon a closer to a 6 year  85 million dollar extension. Trying to do his best Kevin Towers impression. The Cardinals currently sitting 5th in the division and were looking for change. Looking for younger and better talent.

Lets just say this…

He had a busy first day.

Very sad to see Wainwright go after 129 career wins with St Louis.

However the Cardinals dumped a 19.5 million dollar salary for two exciting prospects, Chase Anderson and Adrian Sanchez. You might wonder why so many players were including in the deal, these players are just balancing out the salary and are all free agents at the end of the year.

Trade #2

Astros send:
Ronny Rafael OF (R)
Derek Fisher OF (AAA)
Dustin Garneau C (AAA)
Aaron Blair SP (AAA)
Ronald Torreyes SS (AA)

Cards Send
Carlos Martinez SP (MLB)

Sad to see another pitcher that Cards fans were accustom to seeing. The Cardinals get the #11 prospect, with 3 other enticing prospects.

Trade #3

Cardinals send:

3B Matt Carpenter (MLB)

Yankees send:

3B Colin Moran (AA)
Trevor Plouffe (MLB)

The Cardinals get another exciting prospect and save money by dumping Carpenters salary.

The team may be terrible now but The future is bright St Louis.
